This week sees Brisbane boys Violent Soho kick off their Australian headline tour in support of their upcoming double A-side release Tinderbox/Neighbour Neighbour. It’s been a long time between drinks for the band, who have spent much of the last two years pulling together material for their hotly-anticipated third album. But for fans of grit and grunge, the wait has definitely been worth it.
The video for Neighbour Neighbour landed today, and sets the benchmark for the raddest pool party this side of November. Tristan Houghton’s easy, breezy low-fi video is the perfect visual for the band’s maturing sound. The boys have dialed back a little on the angst of previous tunes, but don’t skimp on the raw vocals and gritty guitars we’ve come to crave from the band. Neighbour Neighbour has all the right moves to become the song for a sun-drenched Aussie Summer, and sets the bar swelteringly high for the rest of the year.
Violent Soho launch their tour this Thursday night at GoodGod, and Neighbour Neighbour hits iTunes this Friday.
